Changes from drawing to print:

• A boat has been added to the right of the central margin.
• The mass of trees in the lower left-hand corner has been reduced in size.
• The cartouches have been moved by differing amounts.
   

Artist's shorthand:

• The trees, especially those in the foreground at the front.
• The movement in the waves.
• The paddy fields.
   

This drawing was published in the same book as Fig. 11. We can see, in both these drawings, the same hand at work in the small figures, the trees, the waves, the houses in the distance and the paths.  It is only on careful examination of this drawing that we can fully appreciate the sheer wealth of inventiveness in the details.
