22 B. Standing man, by Yasuda Raishû.

Published in Mongaku jônin hoshin no ki hashi kuyô ( The enlightenment of St Mongaku: Mass for the bridge), vol. 3, p. 11, in 1815.

22 C. A woman holding a kimono in her hand, by
Yasuda Raishû.

Published in Mongaku jônin hoshin no ki hashi kuyô, vol. 4, p. 15B, in 1815.

The woman’s hand near her mouth, which was badly drawn here, was corrected in the print, leading us to believe that there was an intermediate drawing between this one and the print.

22 D.
An armed man, with one knee on the ground, hides his tears, by Hokusai.

Published in Matsuô monogatari ( The story of Matsuô), vol. 4, p. 4B, in 1812?.  The print is reproduced in Suzuki, Hokusai yomihon sashie shûsei, vol. 4, plate 126.

This drawing shows all the characteristics of a drawing by Hokusai, however, its small size has not enabled us to find it in any prints.
