The “Edo-Tôkyô Museum, Katsushika Hokusai Ten” , 1995, pp. 85-85, catalogues three separate editions of this book, and for each of these editions reproduces the print from this drawing. Only the first edition has the child furthest to the right. In the second edition, the child has been replaced by a cartouche, while in the third, the cartouche has been removed, without restoring the child. It is worth noticing that in the drawing, the child has a respectful and attentive attitude which fits well with the ceremony, while in the print, he has more of a dazed expression which is uncommon in Japanese art and not in keeping with the ceremony. It is probably for this reason that he has been replaced by the cartouche in the second edition rather than moving the cartouche slightly lower to the edge of the platform.
